Idea Cellular aiming to promote young talent announced the winners of the Idea Students Award 2013-14. Tollywood actor Mahesh Babu, presented the awards to 15 students and the Most Talented College Award at a ceremony held in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

The objective behind presenting the award is to recognise talent among the youth in colleges and give them a platform to take off in their chosen fields of excellence.

The Top five winners of Idea Students Award are K Vinayak Sai from Nalanda Degree College under the Innovation category; Srikanth Borra from Nimra Institute of Science and Technology under the Entrepreneurship category; Tejaswini Manogna from Osmania Medical College under the Sports & Adventure category; J V V Satyanarayana from Paladugu Parvathi Devi College of Engineering and Technology under the Social Service category; and Kiranmaye Kothapalli from CMS Junior College under the Creative and Performing Arts category. Aditya Degree College, Nalanda Degree College and Sujatha Degree College from Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Hyderabad respectively were declared the winners of the Most Talented College Award category.

Felicitating the winner, Mahesh Babu said, “I hope this recognition provides a strong sense of contribution and success quotient amongst the students, and inspire them to excel in their chosen fields.”

The panel included Jwala Gutta, India’s Star Badminton player; Mohammed Ali Beig, renowned Theatre personality; Kiran Pedada from Centre for Teaching, Learning, and Case Development, ISB Hyderabad; Dr Karunakar B, Director, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Hyderabad; Vijay Kumar from Andhra Bank; and Sabina Xavier from NGO ‘Heal-a-Child Foundation’. Online voting for the shortlisted candidates, from audiences across India, led to the final winner of the Idea Students Award.
