'Stringent action for overpricing food in Railways'

Ahead of a top level review meeting with the general managers and divisional railway managers from all the zones of Indian Railways, the general manager of South Central Railway (SCR), PK Srivastava, held a meeting through video conferencing with all the principal heads of departments and divisional railway managers of the six divisions.

PK Srivastava undertook a detailed analysis of the safety performance in the recent past to identify specific causes in unusual incidents on a case to case basis. A critical review of the reasons for asset failures and corrective action being taken to attain zero-level of failures was focused upon.

The general manager also reviewed the measures being taken to provide hygienic and qualitative catering facilities to the passengers. “Stringent action will be taken against errant licensees and vendors, who overprice the food items”, he said.
