P Sudhakar is electronics man of the year
The Electronics Industries Association (ELCINA) honoured P Sudhakar with the Electronics Man of the Year award at their annual awards presentation ceremony in New Delhi on Friday.

The Electronics Industries Association (ELCINA) honoured P Sudhakar with the Electronics Man of the Year award at their annual awards presentation ceremony in New Delhi on Friday. The award was presented by Anil Swarup, additional secretary, cabinet secretariat, Government of India. The Electronics Man of the Year award recognises extraordinary contributions by individuals towards the growth and strengthening of the electronics industry in India.
The honour was bestowed to P Sudhakar for his unparalleled contribution to the growth of manufacturing and expansion of applications of electronics and information technology as well as research and development and assimilation of new technology. The jury members recognised Sudhakar’s outstanding achievements in leading the Electronics Corporation of India Ltd (ECIL) to great heights, achieving the highest turnover, ramping up production to support the Indian electoral machinery as well as several other initiatives in expanding the activities of ECIL in new arenas.
Accepting the award, Sudhakar said, “The electronics industry is one of the fastest growing sector and is expected to emerge as a critical contributor to the country’s economy. We should aim to make our country a global hub for electronic systems design and manufacturing. With the available pool of innovative and talented human resources and infrastructure, we should be able to build the capacities to develop and manufacture the entire value chain of electronics within the country.”
