A free breast cancer screening camp was organised by the Vasavya Mahila Mandali (VMM) in collaboration with Nagarjuna Hospital on Friday ahead of International Women’s Day.Speaking on the occasion, VMM secretary G Rashmi said that more than 150 women from various parts of the city and its suburbs enrolled their names to undergo screening at the camp.

“Pap Smear test was also conducted free of cost. Free cancer consultation was provided to rural women below the poverty line. The results of Pam Smear test would be informed to the patients after four days,” Rashmi said.

Nagarjuna Hospital surgical oncologist Dr Kaushik Hari said that they would provide free medical treatment to the eligible patients under the NTR Arogya Seva scheme. “We will organise free cancer screenings camps for women regularly hereafter as part of our campaign to combat the disease,” Hari said.
