Responding to him, the Chief Minister said that he should ensure the operations of Hyderabad Metro to be absolutely safe and convenient even for ordinary and illiterate people. Safety of women and children and facilities for physically challenged people should be specially taken care of, he emphasised.

Since Keolis recruits the operating and maintenance engineers and personnel for the Hyderabad Metro, the Chief Minister advised the Keolis MD to ensure that they shall be from Telangana and that preference shall be given for the locals in Metro Rail recruitment. Bernard committed to the CM that he will ask his managers to go to local engineering colleges for campus recruitment and to see that local talent is encouraged and preference to be given to women wherever possible.


Lok Sabha member Jitender Reddy, Chief Secretary to Government Dr Rajiv Sharma, Principal Secretary to CM, S Narsing Rao, Additional Principal Secretary to CM A Santhi Kumari, Special Secretary to CM Smita Sabharwal and MD, HMR NVS Reddy were present during the meeting.
