With about 105 unrecognised schools in the district, 99 are in Vijayawada alone, which depicts the poor standard of education system in schooling has got down to. The Krishna District Education Department has cracked a whip on the unrecognised schools in the city and district which are operating against the guidelines and rules.

Chaitanya School, which is operating in a ground plus two floors building at BRTS road was found to be re-opened without recognition, for which the District Education Officer (DEO) Ravi Kumar slapped notices on Monday. A meeting with the administration of the private schools in the district had been convened earlier asking them to get registered and renew the policies stated henceforth.

However, some of the schools have re-opened their academic year from Monday, violating the government rule. A notice has been issued to the school administration which directed them to pay fine of one lakh rupees for violating the rule and also obtain registration within two days.

If not the administration comes to the deal, a penalty of Rs 10,000 per day will be levied. “The raids will continue until the administrations of the circle institutions obtain the necessary recognition or are winded up,” the DEO said.
