A smart innovation. The students of Vignan University’s Electrical and Electronic Engineering have invented ‘Smart Energy Meter’, a device, which helps in reducing the paying of penalty in lakhs.
The students of Vignan University’s Electrical and Electronic Engineering have invented ‘Smart Energy Meter’, a device, which helps in reducing the paying of penalty in lakhs. The meter informs the user through an SMS when the usage of electricity goes beyond the normal consumption.
And also the meter automatically intimates the consumer about the power consumption and status of the load whether it is on or off. One can get total status of the devices and can switch on or off the load with just a mobile phone by sending an SMS.
Like the Global System of Mobile Communication, this can be operated from any part of the world. The main aim of the project is to reduce the wastage of power in industries and in agriculture operations. Farmers can also operate the motors in farms through an SMS by using this meter from anywhere and prevent water wastage.
The team members behind this innovation B Naveen Kumar, T Bhargav, G Hemanth Rao, S Praveen and D Manikanta Swamy. Dr G Durga Sukumar, head of department supervised the project. APTRANSCO appreciated this project. The device has been exhibited in various colleges and bagged many laurels.
