Part time bandiwallahs business soars

It’s Ramzan and part-time bandiwallahs numbering about 30 who otherwise do add jobs in the rest of the season are back at the Patterghatti to Moghulpura stretch. Most of them sell Namaz topi, ribbons, plastic combs, bangles, pearls and Namaz items including perfumes.

Riaz, a 20 odd something takes a break from his painting work and sells Ramzan items. This year he decided to sell perfume. He says, “The sales are just picking up. I take home about Rs 400 a day. As the days pass I am hopeful that I can take come Rs 1000 a day.” Like him there are about 30 youngsters selling a variety of items.
