The word ‘filmmaker’ may instantly strike an image of Spielberg-like figure directing hundreds of people with a loudspeaker, walking the red carpet and winning prestigious awards, to one's mind. But reality behind the world of filmmaking involves a lot of hard work, vision, creativity and a quite a number of challenges.
Having the prestigious Jury Award in their pocket for ‘Dark Tunnel’ at First Cut 2014, ‘Eu4ic Entertainments’ believes in setting higher targets for their company to prove that this city is no less when it comes to capture the perfect shot. Dishing out new stories and genres to the audience without following any set formula; Eu4ic, started in 2013 by Aditya Pamnani and Kaushal Sharma, focuses on venturing and communicating all the innovative ideas through the process of filmmaking and designing.
They have worked on six short films so far which took them to various film festivals like ‘Cineshots’, ‘Yes! I’m the Change’ and more. And also, they have made corporate ads for companies like Just 4 U, Khandelwal Ceramics and BLX Impex. “After completing our course from Annapurna International School of Film & Media (AISFM), Kaushal and I started producing and making short films with a group of friends.
In this process, we met filmmaker Rahul Bhupat and photographer Vamsi Chelamkuri and in January this year, we decided to use creative story telling for corporate, weddings and a lot more with a tagline ‘Creatively yours’”, says the creative head of the company Aditya Pamnani.
“I was a shy chap. Acting started for me at the age of 10 when I got a role of a God to play. A keen interest started building up for this field of emoting out feelings through acting which soon turned into a profession. Through Eu4ic, I got a platform to represent myself as an actor as well as a director,” he adds.
Kaushal Sharma, the business head of the company, who also acted in films like ‘Manam’, ‘Pyaar Mein Padipoyane’, ‘Gaalipatam’ says, “Most of my friends wanted to do what their father did. But I was really not sure. Just for good grades and extra marks, I started participating in these stage shows and slowly, I started enjoying playing different characters and that is how my journey of acting took place.”
He adds, “Eu4ic Entertainment was an initiative at first. We started to making short films just to take part in competitions and not for any commercial purpose. But after a while we started working on it to establish it and to make it big. Aditya was in a play ‘Macbeth’. So, we took the initiative of making the content commercial for that play.
The content we made, the way we marketed it and the response we got, it was fabulous. In that process, we understood that we can do something like this apart from acting. For me, Eu4ic is a platform to make creative stuff and have fun while you are doing what you love to do. Many parents, especially in our society they don’t encourage much to get into something like this. If you really want to do something, just pack your bags and start following it.”
Rahul Bhupat, a filmmaker and a post production expert, who has been part of 24 Frames Factory as an assistant director says, “It is a platform to exhibit and showcase all our imaginations, combined as one little expression while being ‘creatively yours’.” Talking about their service, Aditya says, “Our USP is to provide creativity, efficient production skills and to spread happiness through our service.
A lot of people opt for metro cities like Mumbai or Delhi, if they want to avail such service. We don’t want to compete but want to set our benchmark. We have a few upcoming corporate videos with some of the reputed business houses based here. We are also stepping in the wedding film market and are busy scripting our first indie-feature film which would go on the floors by next year.”
Vamsi Chelamkuri, a photographer and a core member of this company sums up by saying, “Eu4ic Entertainments is all about satisfying creative desires and spreading happiness through the art of filmmaking and photography.
