When Bugs and Daffy saved the world. Live music isn’t just a genre; it is an experience to revel. As the world rusts itself in monotonous routine 9-to-5 jobs, ‘Bugs and Daffy’ save the world from boredom. No, no the iconic cartoon characters.
Live music isn’t just a genre; it is an experience to revel. As the world rusts itself in monotonous routine 9-to-5 jobs, ‘Bugs and Daffy’ save the world from boredom. No, no the iconic cartoon characters.
We are talking about the band, ‘Bugs and Daffy’ (B.A.D), who performed live at Hard Rock Café recently at an event, which they cleverly called, ‘Bugs and Daffy save the world’, because let’s face it, we need that.
Seven youngsters, Anjali sankaran (vocalist), Livia Thomas (vocalist), Rohan Shetty (vocalist and rhythm guitarist), Pankaj Borthakur (lead guitarist), Hamilton (keyboard artiste), Sid Nag (bass) and Mrigkumar (drummer), performed with the goal to ‘kill monotony’. Man alive! They did boost the energy of the crowd real good.
They performed own compositions and covers including numbers like “Rhythm of Love”, “Hit Me Baby One More Time”, “Raise Your Glass” and “Lead On” amongst others that drove the crowd insane with enthusiasm. B.A.D came together for the love of music, and has set out to conquer the world. Here are a few excerpts from the band’s interview with the CityTAB.
What message would you like to spread through your music? It’s pretty much what we’re living right now… That anything is possible with the help of friends and some instruments. You guys have performed in various places in Hyderabad.
How is the response you’re getting and how are you killing monotony? Why kill it, instead you can change it? Hyderabad has been great. We are starting to build a strong base in Hyderabad. Monotony is what brought us together in the first place. We were so tired of doing the same thing every day that we decided to break the monotony through our music.
Why ‘Bugs and Daffy’? We were hanging out with a couple of friends bouncing off band names unit we finally ran out of names, then we just started fooling around with the names that were completely irrelevant until we landed up at ‘Bugs and Daffy save the world. It was pure instinct.
And, the acronym ‘B.A.D’, what’s up with that? Are bugs going to evolve into something big or something low and fighting alone against all monotony? The idea in our heads is an adventure in which Bugs and Daffy are the underdogs. Nothing much is expected from them, but then they ultimately end up saving the world! That’s pretty much what we’re about.
