The first day of screening at the 19th International Children’s Film Festival (ICFF) was a moment of joy for many students who came from across the world and country to participate in the weeklong fest. Screenings were done at Prasads IMAX, which is the main menu.

The gala event is being attended by children and film professionals from across the world. Rinkumani Bhatachariya, a student coordinator from Sikkim said, “This is the first time we came to Hyderabad for the festival. I like the whole vibe and Hyderabadi food is amazing.”

Students from Purple People Labs in Chandigarh, which is a social enterprise that equips young people to create positive, powerful and purposeful stories, expressed their happiness to be in the city for the fest. Riya, a student said, “We are around 17 people and we are enjoying a lot. Each movie teaches us something beautiful.”

Elated by their city playing host for the international Fest, students from Hyderabad joined in the celebrations clad in traditional garbha attire. Anusha, a student from Shri Gujarati Vidya Mandir High School in Koti said, “I came here in traditional attire to watch films that portray the various cultures of our country.”

Media students could not refrain themselves from the Festival and joining the frenzy of students were young ladies from the SNDT Women’s University in Pune. “We are group of 14 students; we are here as part of our course to understand films and learn from them.
