Showcasing the advantages of Hyderabad as an investment hub, Telangana State Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma urged a Japanese team of officials to invest in the State in various sectors and help encourage tourism sector.
The Japanese team has come to India to study the business potential and explore the possibility of bridging the gap between India and Japan

Hyderabad: Showcasing the advantages of Hyderabad as an investment hub, Telangana State Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma urged a Japanese team of officials to invest in the State in various sectors and help encourage tourism sector.
A 13-member team, led by Kenichi Watanble, Vice-Chairman of Japan based International Friendship Exchange Council (FEC), called on Rajiv Sharma at the Secretariat on Friday. The Japanese team has come to India to study the business potential and explore the possibility of bridging the gap between India and Japan.
The Chief Secretary explained that the Telangana State was inviting investments in 14 sectors, including Life Sciences, Food Processing, IT and Hardware and others. The government was committed to transform Hyderabad as a global destination by improving infrastructure, connectivity and facilities.
To make it so, the government was going ahead with its plans of implementing projects like Metro Rail, Strategic Road Development Plan, setting up of transit-oriented growth corridors at 13 places abutting Outer Ring Road and allotment of lands to industries and business ventures of international importance in a friendly manner, he said. Rajiv Sharma said the new State was the best destination to make huge investments.
Municipal and Urban Development Principal Secretary M G Gopal said about 40 per cent of people were residing in the towns in the new State of Telangana and steps were being taken to overcome traffic problems in the city. The State government was committed to complete the Metro Rail works at the earliest and efforts are on to encourage industries near ORR. Land would be allocated for business on priority basis, he said.
Roads and Buildings Principal Secretary Sunil Sharma asked the team to invest in potential sectors like IT, Manufacturing, Data Centres and others. Finance Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao said Telangana was a revenue surplus State, achieved 15 per cent growth in collecting taxes and got financial stability and launching infrastructure schemes. He asked the team to invest in irrigation sector and construction of roads.
Tourism Commissioner Sunitha Bhagavan asked the team to encourage Japanese people to avail tourism packages to visit several Buddhist spots in the State. Team Advisor Hiroshi said this time they came to Hyderabad as part of their regular visit to Delhi and other metro cities.
