With Gen Y looking for content on the go, a web series has a greater advantage than a traditional TV show. ‘Blush Up Fitness’, a web series by Culture Machine’s Blush channel starring Sonnalli Seygall went on air this week, is sure to prove the above statement true with its appeal and unique style.

The show highlights all aspects of wellness for women, right from morning routine to dealing with stress to looking your best at any given time of the day with the actress sharing secret mantras and what keeps her glowing through the hectic lifestyle.

In an interaction with The Hans India, actress Sonnalli Seygall of ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ fame and former ‘Miss India International’ talks about the concept of the series, how important it is to keep yourself fits and her philosophy on the subject.

Excerpts
Tell us about ‘Blush Up Fitness’. There are many fitness videos out there, but they aren’t as effective for a lot of reasons like being very generic, unrealistic or even not being shot and produced well. ‘Blush Up Fitness’ will fill this gap. I am a fitness freak. So, when this came along, it seemed like the perfect opportunity. I have seen the kind of work that Culture Machine and Blush have done in the past like Kalki’s Printing Machine, so I knew that the series will worth it.

The series is divided into eight episodes. What can the audience expect from each one?
The episodes will cover a different aspect of wellness whether its exercise, staying healthy and happy or even cheating for that matter. We premiered with ‘Morning Mantra’ which covers my every day morning routine. Later in the series, we will cover things like balancing your chakras, fitness apps, skin regimes and a lot more.

There is so much that is talked about when it comes to fitness and people tend to get very lost. I see my mother and friends get confused as to what or whom they need to follow; so with ‘Blush Up Fitness’, we have handpicked things that we have tried and tested and that have worked for most of the people.

Most women are conscious about our body and looks. Your comments on this. I think men are equally conscious on the way they look, but yes women tend to deal with the worst of it at times. But, it is a good thing. I know most people would take it as negative behaviour, but it is extremely important to care for the way you look and feel. I believe that only when you feel good, it reflects on your body.

A lot of times we come across people who are not conventionally “good looking”, but we find ourselves attracted towards them and that is only because they are happy and in love with themselves. And working out does just that. It releases endorphins in your body, which really makes a huge difference to your entire day.

What do you do to keep yourself fit?
I don’t always stick to a regime rigorously – I have my cheat days and off days as well and I have a sweet tooth so that complicates things. But it is crucial to workout regularly. Even when I was shooting for ‘Pyaar ka Punchnama’ in Thailand, we used to have odd call times like 5 am. So, I used to get up at 3 am, put in an hour of workout and then head to hair and makeup. Those 5 minutes where I struggled to wake up were the worst, but once the workout mode was set, I felt like I could take on the world.

What is your philosophy regarding fitness?
Being fit and healthy is really not a task; it is a frame of mind. So, when you are in that zone, things will happen automatically. So, just set your mind and you are good to go.
