The hospital’s liver transplant team transplanted mother D Manasa’s kidney to the kid diagnosed with stage IV cancer Hepatoblastoma.
Chief liver transplant surgeon at Yashoda Dr Bala Chandra Menon in a press conference said, “Liver transplant was successfully performed for the child after harvesting left lateral lobe of the liver from his mother.
It was technically challenging and 8-hour long surgery. The baby was monitored in ICU ever since and was discharged ten days after that.”
