From the makers of the popular number “The Period Song” and the critically-acclaimed “How I Raped Your Mother” comes another witty video – this time TVF’s Girliyapa team brings to focus a look at gender dynamics in India.

‘Mom Wars’, starring Sumukhi Suresh and Sarika Singh, puts the Girliyapa gaze on mothers competing about "whose son is better" and, in typical Girliyapa style, takes this one-upmanship to absurd heights.

Devanshi Shah, writer of Mom Wars said, "As girls, we've constantly observed this "mera beta" battle, either with our siblings, our friends or in media. Isn't it funny how the cliché has mothers comparing their sons and conveniently forgetting daughters? That strange dichotomy was the inspiration for this piece."

Launched in March this year, Girliyapa has been creating entertaining and engaging videos exclusively for girls and women. With its last four videos going viral, they have quickly grown into one of the largest woman-oriented YouTube channels in the country, with nearly 1,10,000 subscribers.

Tracy D'Souza, Channel Head of Girliyapa shared, "At Girliyapa we want to look at the world through a uniquely skewed feminine eye. From marital rape to periods, from ogling men to fighting mothers, we always want to have our own unique voice in addressing the life of women through the eyes of women."
