Carving through the soul

One-minute trailer of ‘The Sculptor’ a documentary film with Shivarama Chary in the lead role and directed by Natraaj Maharshi was screened at Kalakriti Art Gallery. The film is slated to release in January 2017.

“The Sculptor' is a unique form of art more than a mere documentary film based on the vision of the ace sculptor Shivarama Chary,” shared the director of the film.

Shivrama besides being himself also plays a protagonist with his medium in the picturesque journey of his life in transforming himself and provocation of his ideas into amazing sculptures and artistic pieces that tell a story, emote transcending phases and express the connection with realms beyond,” he adds.

An independent filmmaker Natraaj Maharshi says, “When I visited Shivram’s studio for the first time, I found it as a soul factory and the next day I said I want to direct you, and he said you are doing a mistake. But later he was ready to do it.

The film depicts the journey, his striving efforts and the process of undergoing self-realisation, and how he attempts to hear the inner voice that leads to the generation of creative embellishments and end up being the final result with variety. The film may release in January.”
