Warangal Urban: Hyderabad-based architect and environmental activist M Nagaraj has demanded the State government to come up with urgent measures for proper maintenance of the historic Ramappa Temple.

The temple built by great Telugu dynasty of Kakatiyas is being neglected. As a result such temple is now in ruins. The temple may collapse at any time as ants were digging into the foundation. The issue has been highlighted by various print and electronic media many times, but to no avail, he said.

Ramappa Temple is the world’s best Shiva Temple. It speaks of architectural excellence achieved by human beings. No Temple in the world has so intricate sculpture made in hard black granite stone.

Now, it is the time to save Ramappa and also the Warangal Fort from illegal constructions going on inside the Fort. The Fort needs to be renovated.

The outer and inner walls have to be re-constructed and efforts to be made to bring back the past glory of the Fort.

In support of the demand, a campaign ‘Save Ramappa’ will be staged at Kaloji Centre in Hanamkonda from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday, Nagaraj informed. He appealed all the concerned public to join the road show to be held on the day.
