Rally against use of plastics, flexies taken out
Participants in the rally marched from the local bus-stand, Ambedkar statue circle and the old bus-stand.Speaking to the media, Bodhan Municipal Commissioner Swamy Naik said that the civic body would take action against those violating the government orders with regard to the use of flexies.
Bodhan: College students, representatives of women’s organisations and local municipal employees took out a rally in the town on Wednesday advocating the need for stopping the use of plastic items and flexes. The State government has issued order that no flexes would be permitted from January 1 this year.
Participants in the rally marched from the local bus-stand, Ambedkar statue circle and the old bus-stand.Speaking to the media, Bodhan Municipal Commissioner Swamy Naik said that the civic body would take action against those violating the government orders with regard to the use of flexies.
Among those who took part in the rally were Municipal Chairman Yellayya, the Vice-chairman, municipal staff, students and leaders of several women’s organisations.
