Pochampally IKAT art mela, the eight-day exhibition and sale of hand-woven eco-friendly handloom products is back in the Hyderabad.

Telugu film actress, Deekshitha Parvathi inaugurated the eight-day mela at Y.W.C.A hall, West Marredpally, Secunderabad.

“Platforms such as these are required to reach out to women looking for well-designed handmade cotton, silk wear and exclusive home textile” Sailaja Reddy, a city-based socialite, who visited the mela said.

Pochampally Handloom Park director, Lava Kumar shared, “We are promoting handlooms as well as supporting the artisans and local community, who have been passing on their skills for generations.

Each design is a result of individual artisan’s creativity, which is influenced by the local traditions and cultures.”

Mela offers handmade bed and home Linen, dress materials, silk & cotton sarees designed by the weavers of Pochampally.

Home textiles, apparel fabrics, stoles, scarves, dupattas, table mats, covers, cotton shirts and kurtis, hand bags are also put on display in the exhibition.
