Alleges the KCR does opposite that of what he promises
Khammam: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is an expert of saying something and doing the opposite, Telangana Telugu Desam Party working president A Revanth Reddy said.
Revanth consoled the ten farmers, who were arrested in connection with the ransacking of market yard recently, at Khammam district prison on Wednesday. Later, he met their family members and assured of legal assistance.
“The TRS government which claims itself as farmer-friendly is actually bulldozing their rights. KCR is a master craftsman in saying something and doing exactly the opposite,” Reddy said, demanding the government to lift the cases booked against the farmers with immediate effect.
Although the chilli growers are in distress since the start of the season, no Minister in Chandrashekar Rao’s Cabinet has visited market yards to review the situation.
“The government says that arrested persons were goondas. In fact, half of the arrested persons are TRS workers, he said, advising the Ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao and T Harish Rao to enquire the details of those arrested at the market yard. Further, he dared the Ministers to visit market yard without any security.
He said that while neighbouring State was providing Rs 1,500 per quintal support price to chilli farmers, the TRS government was looking at Central government for help.
Instead of lending a helping hand to chilli farmers, the government says that Opposition parties were trying to exploit political mileage.
Revanth Reddy said that farmers would teach the TRS government a fitting lesson. He said they would hold a public meeting at Palair this week to expose the failures of TRS government.
Former MP Nama Nageswara Rao, Sathupally MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah, T Telugu Desam president L Ramana, TDP State general secretary Sitakka and district president Tulluri Brahmaiah were among others present.
