Resign & contest poll to know people’s pulse, KCR tells survey critics
Hyderabad: TRS supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Monday threw a challenge to the Congress leaders to resign from their posts and contest elections afresh if they have any self-confidence and guts.
The Chief Minister was speaking after welcoming Telugu Desam Politburo member and former MP Ramesh Rathod, Adilabad district Congress president Ravinder Rao and several others into the TRS fold at Telangana Bhavan by offering them with traditional pink shawls.
KCR said Rathod and Reddy have bright future in the TRS and expressed happiness for their decision to join the ruling party. Speaking on the occasion, KCR lashed out at the Congress and BJP leaders for making mindless comments about the survey that he conducted, which revealed that the TRS would bag 111 seats, Congress two, MIM six and BJP nil.
“The Congress leaders, instead of indulging in “loose and mad” talk should resign from their Assembly membership and contest elections afresh if they are confident of their win. It will be known as who will win and who will be defeated,” he said, adding that people were with.
KCR said Rathod, Reddy and others were senior leaders and would get due recognition in the ruling party. He said the state could irrigate 70,000 acres additionally in Adilabad district. “We have done what we have promised and the Opposition was confused at the welfare schemes and completion of the irrigation projects in the district,” he said.
The TRS supremo also fumed at the BJP and the Congress for their remarks against the survey. “If my survey is bogus, is it true that the one conducted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also a bogus one?” he asked. The Congress leaders should tell why the electorate would vote for them in the next elections.
The people are aware what the Congress has done for 70 years. KCR also alleged that the previous Congress and TDP governments forced Telangana people to cry for power supply. The TRS, however, solved the chronic power crisis and was able to give uninterrupted power supply, he claimed.
