1,200 districts officers attend Telangana orientation programme

A K Goel, IAS (Retd.), Advisor to Government for Planning & Energy said that the Government has succeeded in increasing the irrigated area from 12 lakh acres to 18 lakh acres during the last three years. However, to enhance water use efficiency and to increase farmers’ income, he called for switching over from rice, which is a predominant crop in Telangana, to other crops.
He emphasised the need for greater efforts to increase literacy and educational levels of people in order to empower them to access and use welfare and developmental schemes.
B P Acharya, IAS, Special Chief Secretary to Govt. & DG, Dr MCR HRDIT said, with a sense of pride, that about 1200 District Officers from across the State have attended Telangana Orientation Programme, organised by the Institute, during a short period of three months, which is a first-of-its-kind achievement in the State.
He stated that the Institute has an ambitious plan to offer e-learning training modules to 9000 divisional and mandal level employees. Champalal, IAS, Collector, Kumrambheem district said that physical infrastructure of the district is being diversified and enriched.
The existing market in the district will be transformed into a modern mall where one can buy everything that he needs”, he stated. He added that his practice of visiting remote villages, along with his officers, was of great help in identifying the most deserving beneficiaries for various schemes.
R V Karnan, Collector, Mancherial district has said that efforts are being made to ensure regional balance, considering huge intra-district diversities in terms of development. “The tourism potential of the district is also being fully explored with a view to giving a big boost to the economy of the district”, he added.
Nirmal Collector Ilambarithi said that even though most of the employees possess high educational qualifications, they have to improve their skills. He emphasised the importance of continuous training to employees working in both regulatory and development departments.
Adilabad Collector Jyothi Budha Prakash underlined the importance of awareness about different welfare schemes among the people.
