BJP two-day meet to discuss road map for success in 2019 polls
With an objective of drawing up a road map to gain power in Telangana in 2019 polls the Bharatiya Janata Party )BJP) state executive is going to meet in Hanamkonda on July 22 and 23.
Warangal Urban: With an objective of drawing up a road map to gain power in Telangana in 2019 polls the Bharatiya Janata Party )BJP) state executive is going to meet in Hanamkonda on July 22 and 23.
It is the third time the BJP state executive is meeting in Warangal. It might be noted that in 1961, the then Jana Sangh state working committee had met here followed by the state council meeting in 1973, which was attended by the party veteran LK Advani.
After the Jana Sangh took the shape of BJP, the party state executive had met in the year 1986 and later another meeting was held in 1993. The current meeting of the Telangana unit has assumed importance in view of the party leadership’s ambition of securing power in the state.
The decision of holding the meeting here as Warangal is politically sensitive, played key role in statehood movement and the city being the second important city in the state after Hyderabad, noted the party Warangal Urban president Rao Padma.
Series of meetings have been convened inthe past couple of weeks and several committees have been formed to ensure effective arrangements for the meeting in view of its importance, she told The Hans India.
The state vice-president M Dharma Rao and former MLA T Rajeshwara Rao noted that the party was fast expanding all over the country, especially in Telangana. Of the 32,000 polling stations in the state, the BJP reached out to 25,000 polling stations strengthening the booth-level committees.
“Our prime objective is to win 2019 elections in Telangana and we would make every effort it requires. We would bring back BJP’s past glory in the state as the party is the only alternative to ruling TRS ,” he averred.
The state executive would review Pandit Deendayal Vistar Yojana, current political situation and BJP’s role, central schemes and TRS failures, besides chalking out action plan towards 2019 polls. Union Ministers B Dattatreya and Hansraj Gangaram Ahir, national leaders P Muralidhar Rao and Saudhan Singh, state in-charge PK Krishna Das, state leaders K Laxman and G Kishan Reddy, besides 500 delegates would attend the meeting.
