DPS Nacharam is the proud host yet again of the spectacular sporting event, the 6th MKs South Zone Inter School Cricket Tournament from July 6 for both boys and girls at the sprawling school campus
Hyderabad: DPS Nacharam is the proud host yet again of the spectacular sporting event, the 6th MK’s South Zone Inter School Cricket Tournament from July 6 for both (boys and girls) at the sprawling school campus.
A whopping 27 schools from the South Zone-Telangana, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh are participating in this prestigious event. The program was inaugurated on 6th July which witnessed a total of 47 teams including 6 teams of girls representing their schools, awaiting to play the knock out tournament all through the 8 day cricketing extravaganza. The tournament is being played in U-12, U-14 and U-16 categories.
Principal Sunitha Rao, welcomed all the teams to this much awaited event of the twin cities urging students to excel in sports along with academics to attain a holistic personality. The Chief Guests for this occasion, C Shamshuddin, Indian Cricket Umpire and SubhajitSaha, Director CII Telangana State Office, Chairman M Komaraiah, were welcomed by the ceremonial Guard of Honour by the school NCC cadets.
Vice Principal Gowri Venkatesh introduced the Chief guests and inspired the audience with her words of motivation. The honourable Chief Guests C Shamshuddin, Indian Cricket Umpire and SubhajitSaha, Director CII Telangana State Office assured the participants of their support and encouraged the students to give equal importance to academics and sportsas well. Shamshuddin administered the oath to the players and Subhajit Saha declared the tournament open.
A visionary in the field of education, Green Energy producer, and one who also nurtures a passion for sports, the Chairman M Komaraiah, asked the participants to imbibe the culture and the true spirit of sportsmanship throughout the tournament. The first match of MK’s 2018-19 was kicked off on DPS, Nacharam grounds with the Chief Guest Shamshuddin tossing the coin for CAL Public School and BVBHS NIRD. The valediction programme has been slated for the July 13 with the finals under flood lights.
