Only select labs in India are authorized to carry out the Swine Flu test in the laboratory, as this requires specialized testing backed by high end technology and special sample collection requirements. Metropolis Healthcare is qualified to conduct swine flu testing, complying with all requirements of state government.

Swine Flu is caused by one or several types of influenza virus strains. The disease is infectious and spreads through person to person or if a person comes in contact with an infected surface. Symptoms of swine flu and seasonal flu are similar and hence it is imperative to seek medical advice. Your doctor is the best person to guide you on testing requirements and medication.

Symptoms such like if you have continuous fever, accompanied with dry cough, chest discomfort and fatigue contact your doctor immediately. Get a medicinal prescription and if your doctor has advised for a test and go to an authorized center for testing within 24 hours. Swine flu testing is done using real time PCR technique. BMC's helpline number 022-24114000 from 9 am to 9 pm for information on swine flu.

Dr Nilesh Shah, Group President, Scientific Services and Operations said, “We are happy to announce the price slash for the benefit of our customers. We have observed a surge in swine flu testing in the past month and it indicates panic. If people observe severe flu like symptoms, they should visit a doctor immediately and take proper medical advice.

Pregnant ladies, kids, diabetics, people with weakened immune system and elderly are at high risk and should take extra care. I would like to reiterate that laboratory testing is done only based on a doctor’s prescription. We are thoroughly following the BMC Guidelines. In Mumbai alone we are testing about 25 samples a day and 3 in 10 samples are returning positive”.

Metropolis Healthcare has a wide network which includes 130 state-of-art laboratories across India with over 1000 collection centers, processing over 4500 varieties of tests and supported by an efficient team of more than 3700 employees.
