Chennai : Medi Assist, the managed care organization, has been conferred with the prestigious CIO 100 Award 2016 at the 11th CIO 100 Symposium and Awards Ceremony, held at J.W Marriot in Pune on 1st and 2nd September 2016.

Every year, the CIO 100 evaluates and recognizes businesses that create a strategic impact upon their industry through innovative use of technology. “It is a matter of great pride to win the Information Mastermind award this year in recognition of MediBuddy, our technology platform that is transforming the health insurance industry at its core,” said Satish Gidugu, COO, Medi Assist. “The CIO 100 award comes just in the wake of our listing on the CIO Review as one of the Top 20 Most Promising Medical Technology Solution Providers, 2016. Such recognition is a validation of our efforts to leverage technology to make healthcare accessible, affordable and actionable for our members across the country,” he adds.

With its diverse offerings for various stakeholders in the healthcare industry, MediBuddy makes the process of discovering, accessing, utilizing and monitoring health benefits seamless, real-time, and virtually paperless. Available both as an app and an online portal, MediBuddy allows members the freedom to choose their own username and password and access, raise, manage and track their cashless and reimbursement claims in real-time. The GPS enabled network hospital search allows members to locate hospitals within their insurer network in their vicinity. With the ability to raise claims online and save documents in digital format, MediBuddy also makes the entire lifecycle of health benefits virtually paperless, by saving all records on the cloud.

The eCashless feature allows users to obtain a provisional preauthorization before the date of admission using their mobile app. Eliminating the need for faxes, e-mails and redundant communication, network hospitals use the MediBuddy platform to manage all cashless claims, right from origination until settlement.

The platform leverages Mongo and Blob to manage approximately 60 lakh claim records and store more than 4 Terabytes of records. The use of Elastic search allows searches through more than 15 million records in a matter of milliseconds.

MediBuddy continues to see incredible adoption and support from the industry and in the months to come, the platform is set to morph into a one-stop gateway for all healthcare needs of an individual, spanning in-patient care, out-patient services, medicines and lifestyle management solutions.
