Whenever the present government proudly attempts to promote the traditional healing practices, consciously it always recalls the cultural legacy of our country, the empirical evidence the faith healing practices have and claiming how people in the great past had lived healthy & surpassed all kinds of diseases that are seen today etc., attributing all benefits to the ancient faith based healing practices.

Confabulation is defined as a mental state where the memories are truncated, fabricated or placed far from truth but interestingly such combinatorial thinking synthesis in people may not have any mala fide intent.

Today most of the neo nationalists and those who promote the ancient tradition of India as supra science looks like suffer from the psychological state called confabulation. In psychiatry the state of mind confabulation is defined as distortion of memory about onself or world or certain aspects without the conscious intention to deceive.

It means, certain belief systems would have got programmed in the memory over generations which tactfully deceives and forbids people to verify or validate all such belief systems.

If we carefully analyze the belief system of certain people about the ancient faith based healing practices, one may be tempted to assume that such group of people might have been affected by confabulation due to repeated programming that the faith based healing practices are safe, god’s gift, eliminate the ultimate cause of the disease, not the symptom etc.

May be because of confabulation state, people easily falls into the trap of faith system where the faith outsmarts science, over score evidences, deviate human mind from verification and validation. It carefully place such people to continuously believe the faith practices as proven science without experiencing or experimenting the merit.

The problem is not about those who suffer from confabulation state and falling victim to faith system but those who turns out to be the missionaries of such practices by speaking repeatedly about the faith based healing practices as sacred science are unintentionally producing more people who listens to also to suffer from confabulation.

Certainly the greater proportion of confabulation does come as gift of our tradition and upbringing. It is true all over the world. But the most dreaded fear or nightmare is the patronage and promotion of such faith based practices as advanced medical science to programme the memory of several generations to fall into the state of confabulation by the Government.

Many who believe blindly the faith based healing system are less aware of their belief system which is distorted from facts. More worse is that those who have graduated from such faith based healing system willfully exploit the confabulation of people to achieve conviction of the patients through cross pathy.

It means they present everything possible to flatter the confabulation of people about the greatness of faith healing practices but generate believability in people with the help of allopathic drugs under the name cross pathy.

Are we not making our future generation psychic by promoting tradition as science and programming the faith system as evidence based proven fact? Identifying and promoting certain positive benefits of faith healing is not bad but it must be done outside the premise of science and scientifically proven medicine.

Paramedical recognition and such status both to the faith based healing practices and those graduated from such system would auger well for the system as well as to our society.
