Educate a Woman; You Educate a Generation, Thought of St Theresa High School. “It is in the philosophy of the institution to address hardship faced by women and we do our best to make them feel self-sufficient,” informed Sr Johncy, principal of the school.

You educate a man; you educate an individual. You educate a woman; you educate a generation. Walking ahead with this thought, St Theresa High School, Arul Colony, conducted the convocation for the students in vocational computer course on Thursday. 17 students were given away their certificates on the completion of the course, at a coordinated event conducted in the campus. All these 17 students were girls who hailed from a browbeaten part of society and were taught free of cost.
“It is in the philosophy of the institution to address hardship faced by women and we do our best to make them feel self-sufficient,” informed Sr Johncy, principal of the school.
She continued, “Girls are the spine of any country, and education for them is as important as it is for a boy. If not educated, at many times, women end up being domestic labourers. We believe in addressing these grave issues and open a window for them, so that they become capable of exploring the world with their own efforts.”
Sr Johncy, principal of the school, Sr Rosebel, correspondent of the school, and Senior Sister Bibiana gave away the certificates to 17 vocational course students.
S Koteshwari, a daily wage labourer and mother of a student delightfully said, “If it was any other school or organisation, we would have had to spend thousands of rupees for these kinds of courses. I am really glad that the school has taken up this noble initiative and is helping many families like mine. I feel indebted for life.”
