NRI Doctor Donates $1 Lakh To City NGO. His donation was towards SAHI’s work for helping children with hearing impairment, especially for the rural kids with low socio economic conditions in the state.

Dr Prem Sagar Reddy, from Los Angeles is an NRI philanthropist who extended his support to SAHI (Society to Aid the Hearing Impaired) with a donation of $1,00,000 (nearly Rs 63,00,000) through a US based charitable organisation, Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy Foundation (USA).
His donation was towards SAHI’s work for helping children with hearing impairment, especially for the rural kids with low socio economic conditions in the state.
SAHI is an NGO supported by a team of ENT surgeons and audiologists working at Apollo Hospitals with the help of citizens, philanthropists and corporates through their CSR and the hospital management.
A cheque of $100,000 dollars was presented to Dr EC Vinay Kumar, ENT Surgeon and Secretary of SAHI, in the presence of Dr Hari Prasad, CEO, Apollo Hospitals Hyderabad. A Rami Reddy from Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy Foundation (USA) also attended the event. During the occasion, Sugunakar Reddy, who handed over the cheque on behalf of Prem Sagar informed that Dr Prem Sagar has been donating quite often in Andhra Pradesh especifically in Nellore, the district where he hails from.
“Dr Prem Reddy has spent crores of rupees for helping the needy and is committed to even more service in the coming years. Some of his philanthropic work is done by Dr Sanjeeva Reddy, president, NATA, a telugu association of USA,” said Sugunakar.
SAHI plans to utilise the donation from Dr Prem Sagar for rural ear screening camps, conduct micro ear surgeries, provide hearing aids and conduct cochlear implant surgeries to most needy in the society.
