Public Seeks Solution To Long-Pending Complaints. Mayor, Mohammed Majid Hussain, replied that during Muharram, they tried to complete the works after the concerned authorities filed in respective estimations.

A Face-to-Face programme was conducted by the GHMC on Saturday, which had representatives from all the major civic bodies in the city including the Water Board, APCPDCL, police and the collector’s office. 38 complaints were received at the programme of which 12 were telephonic and 26 were walk-in.

Most of the complaints were about the problems which have been pending at the GHMC. One such complaint was from Bibi-ka-Chashma, wherein a wall had collapsed a year ago and was still not restructured. There were also problems with regard to an Ashoor-Khana in Rein Bazaar, which neither had water supply nor a proper electrical circuit.
Mayor, Mohammed Majid Hussain, replied that during Muharram, they tried to complete the works after the concerned authorities filed in respective estimations.
They also received complaints about lack of hygiene alongside hospitals near Yakutpura, debris and garbage on the roads from Santosh Nagar and slow-progress in the road repair works at Balaji Nagar. One particular citizen from the KPHB called in to file a complaint about encroachment of two parks in the vicinity and also about the lack of anti-larval operations in the area.
The Mayor replied that he would quickly look into the matter. He directed L Vandan Kumar, additional commissioner, Health and Sanitation, to take action on a war-footing.
Another complaint that was received was about how the traffic authorities park seized or damaged vehicles on the GHMC roads, especially near Nimboliadda and Chaderghat, which is obstructing the flow of traffic. To this the traffic authorities said, “We have already discussed this issue with the Commissioner of Police, Traffic, and it was concluded that the traffic stations are ill-equipped to take on such high volume of vehicles. Most of these vehicles are seized during drunken driving vigilance drives.”
