Hyderabad: The sixth all India conference of all India Navodaya Vidyalaya Staff Association (NVSA) concluded at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram on Monday.

Speaking at the valedictory function, Prof. K Nageshwar, MLC, urged the staff to join the State and central government teachers to strengthen their struggle and realise their demands.

He urged the staff to wage a battle for improving the overall education system and not confine themselves to economic issues.

G Devi Prasad, president, TNGOA; I Venkateswara Rao, general secretary, APUTF; Ravinder Reddy, general secretary, TNGOA and Rechal (TNGOS) expressed their solidarity with the agitating staff in achieving their rational demands democratically.

The delegates unanimously elected the new central executive committee for the next three years. Jagdish Rai, president; LB Reddy, general secretary and K Manjula, treasurer, are the new office bearers of the association.

During the event, members of association felicitated the retired, the teaching and non-teaching staff for their services to different Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas across the nation.

Delegates of the association from Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Maharastra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Kerala participated.
