Lal Bazaar footpaths cleared of encroachments
The Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) authorities mowed down footpaths encroachments in Lal Bazaar on Monday to widen the roads. The action was taken after numerous complaints were filed by Army authorities, residents and commuters. Mhd. Iqbal, assistant engineer, SCB,said, “The encroachments were cleared on one side of the road.

Meanwhile P Bhagya Sree, ward member 7 of the SCB, objected to the SCB’s move and complained to the chief executive officer. She requested that the vendors be given a week’s time to vacate. However the CEO informed that enough time was given to the vendors to vacate and said that the present encroachments had come up after a similar drive was taken up last year.
