The experts have advised cab drivers in Greater Hyderabad limits to restrain from drunken driving and said that it could ruin several families. Addressing the Training and Appraisal Session, 11th in the series, organised by the Thomson Reuters, in collaboration with the Telangana State Cabs and Bus Operators Association (TSCBOA), Cyberabad Police Commissionerate and Cyberabad Society for Security Council, in Thomson Reuters premises in Madhapur, Hitech City, on Saturday, experts warned the cab drivers against drunken driving.

Citing the example of Ramya accident case, they said one single accident has not only ruined Ramya's family, but those responsible for the accident too would face punishment in a court of law. Therefore, they said drivers should completely avoid drunken driving and act responsibly by discouraging others from doing so. The training session was addressed TSCBOA President Syed Nizamuddin, Madhapur Traffic Inspector Bhasker, Traffic Forum Head Krishna Yedula and Thomson Reuters' Centre Head Vinod.

Syed Nizamuddin, in his speech, said that the training had a good impact on drivers' behaviour and so far, not a single cab driver was found driving in the drunken condition. He said breath analysers have been introduced in almost all companies and all cab drivers undergoes a test before joining the duty. He said that TSCBOA has directed all cab operators to ensure that the drivers employed with them are thoroughly briefed on the dangers of drunken driving.
