Micro art is not an easy task to do and it requires time and patience. Durgam Vinay Kumar, who hails from Komaram Bheem Asifabad district, is pursuing MSc Chemistry in Osmania University. Vinay Kumar has penned the history of Telangana Movement on 20,000 Tangedu leaves in 90 days and entered into ‘Wonder Book of Records’, ‘India Book of Records’, among others.

Speaking with The Hans India, Vinay explained why he chose this artform. “The inclination towards this art came by reading the stories of micro artists in the newspapers, since my childhood. When I was in SSC, I decided to take up this art and my first work, where I wrote the national song on sesame seeds. It took me five days to complete the work. My friends and teachers appreciated the work and encouraged me to do more. I learned the art on my own. Till now I did nine works. Usually, I do these works every summer,” Vinay shared.

It takes 60-90 days for Vinay to complete a work. His recent work ‘Telangana Movement History on Tangedu Leaves’ bagged him ‘Wonder Book of Records’, ‘India Book of Records’ and ‘Telugu Book of Records’. Sharing why he chose to write Telangana history on Tangedu leaves, Vinay said, “Many people protested and participated in the movement for the formation of the State.

I also wanted to do something for the newly formed State and did this work. I covered every moment from 1969 to 2014. I used more than 20,000 Tangedu leaves to complete my work. I am the first person in the world to write a State’s history on Tangedu leaves.”

Vinay also wrote ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ on tamarind leaves when he was in degree first year. He said that this time he chose Tangedu leaves because they last long compared to any other leaves. “Recently, I started writing the development schemes of Telangana Government on nice grains,” Vinay concluded.
