Kukatpally: As part of the ongoing, ‘Agaaz-e-Baatcheet’ programme - a call to ‘initiate a conversation’ on inter-faith, organised by Rubaroo and supported by the British Deputy High Commission, Hyderabad; the Youth Champions, organised a ‘Social Action Project’ here on Monday.
In this regard, Youth Champions held a ‘Peace Walk’ with the theme "Think India: a peace walk for oneness" at the bus stop here. Later, they performed a ‘nukkad natak’ with an inter-faith theme of how we tend to react to false news, which leads to conflicts and hatred amongst people and communities.
British Deputy High Commissioner, Hyderabad, Andrew Fleming was present through the activity and encouraged the youth champions in their initiative.
Earlier, speaking on the inaugural day on Sunday night, Fleming said, “This is a wonderful initiative by Rubaroo, where 125 Youth Champions have been trained and they will put up inter-faith programmes spread across the week. Hyderabad is friendly, and the people here are warm. You should not stop here, you should not become complacent, you always need to try and do better, to grow inter-faith bondage.”
Prominent educationist Zafar Javed said, “The topic Agaaz-e-Baatcheet means starting a dialogue and that's the biggest need of the hour. There is so much of a need to have this dialogue. There is so much of negativity the world over, this may be a small initiative from Hyderabad, but can go long way in removing the negativity, hatred and can become a popular exercise across the country.”
Agaaz-e-Baatcheet is a weeklong inter-faith event for young people to interpret and reflect upon the underlying message of religions and religious identities, finding and celebrating the commonalities between them.
