Mallapur: Local Corporator P Devender Reddy undertook a padayatra at Surya Nagar of his division to spread awareness on how to dispose wet and dry wastes in the surrounding colonies. The initiative was directed towards reducing the open garbage disposal in the ward which has been the cause for spreading diseases.
Plans are afoot to construct Rythu Bazaar, community halls and model markets in the division
Speaking to The Hans India, P Devender Reddy said “We have decided to create awareness among residents of about 600 houses in Suryanagar on the importance of disposing garbage in a proper way.
So, I along with my team visited each house and spoke to the residents on how to dispose wet and dry waste separately. As most of the families living within the division lack awareness on waste disposal, we have decided to take up campaigning at regular intervals in all the divisions of Mallapur.”
The corporator has initiated restoration of water pipeline works and road construction in the last two months that are likely to be completed soon. “We are planning to come up with lot of developmental projects at Mallapur like putting up of Rythu Bazaar, community halls and model markets. I am sure these will give the residents an access to basic amenities and also a renovated look to the division,” added Mallapur corporator P Devender Reddy.
To a question about sanitation in the division, P Devender Reddy told The Hans India, “I have asked the sanitation team to keep my team updated about their arrival in the division. So, we can track their activities and at the same time, spread awareness about the importance of sanitation in the colonies.”
“If all the works go according to the plan, restoration of water pipelines and road work should be completed by June. My target is to complete all the development projects by year-end with the cooperation of people and government”, said Mallapur corporator.
