Hyderabad: Gocoop, India’s first online social marketplace has launched ‘Crafting change’ –to showcase curated collection of hand-woven products from to February 7-11 at State art gallery, Jubilee Hills from 10AM to 7.30PM.
‘Crafting change’ is about crafting real change for artisans, building livelihoods and preserving traditions by creating a sustainable business model for handcrafted goods. This exhibit is one such initiative in the direction apart from the www.gocoop.com online marketplace, B2B platform & go swadeshi exhibitions by gocoop.
The world is witnessing up to the idea of fashion with a heart. The markets are moving away from mass produced goods and are in favour of products that are ethically crafted, sustainable and unique.
International fashion houses are now focussing on initiatives around ethical and sustainable sourcing of products. However the demand for these products are often driven by fashion trends, consumer purchasing patterns, and economic conditions in the end markets.
Most of the weavers in India are unaware about latest designs, current styles and trends in the market. This lack of awareness results in lesser appeal for their products.
gocoop’s initiative in working with artisans on curating exquisite handwoven master pieces is one step towards solving this problem for artisans. gocoop’s design and merchandising experts ensure that the products are contemporary yet showcase the traditional weaving techniques mastered by artisans.
The ‘crafting change’ collection showcases an exquisite range of handwoven masterpieces curated by gocoop’s in house designers. From irresistible Ikat weaves to magical maheshwari sarees, every weave on display has a wow factor associated with it. The exhibition will offer sarees, home furnishings, stoles and many more productsdesigned by gocoop and created by the artisans.
Through ‘crafting change’, gocoop encourages its customers to shop for change and join them in their mission of crafting change for artisans.
Customers can also shop the curated collection online on gocoop marketplace www.gocoop.com/craftingchangeand be a part of the movement by sharing photographs with artisanal products from gocoop with a hashtag #craftingchange with @gocoop tag on Facebook and letsgocoop on instagram.
