Secunderabad: The State Government sanctioned Rs 2.5 crore for Ramanakunta Lake. As part of the rejuvenation work, ring sewer and four outlets would be constructed to stop the drainage from colonies nearby. The drainage water would not get into the lake as it would be connected to the lines informed MLA Sayanna.

The local military authority had earlier expressed reservations about the idea of developing a ring sewer line to divert waste from the lake. Every year during the monsoon, the nearby areas get inundated with water.

Ward No 6 member Pandu Yadav said, “It is a huge relief for the residents abutting the lake and also it was for the first time that the state government sanctioned such a huge amount for a water body in the Secunderabad Cantonment.”
