A City convergence meeting was held on Sunday at Military station, Secunderabad between all stakeholders including Army authorities.
Trimulgherry: A City convergence meeting was held on Sunday at Military station, Secunderabad between all stakeholders including Army authorities.
It was presided over by Major General N Srinivas Rao, General Officer Commanding, Telangana and Andhra Sub Area and attended by Brigadier M D Upadhyay, Station Commander & President Cantonment Board, B Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner GHMC, Sri Dana Kishore, MD HMWS&SB, V Ravinder, Additional Commissioner of Police and other senior civilian and army officials.
For the first time, the city convergence meeting was hosted by the Army. Major General N Srinivas Rao in his welcome address highlighted the importance of such convergence meeting that is a platform for one and all on either side to work for the development of the society and implementation of various government policies and also is a venue for various agencies to discuss and fast-track the solutions which benefits the common man.
He also emphasised the need for adopting the best practices by various agencies to improve the work culture and ethics which indirectly will benefit the citizens.
B Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner GHMC, felt that this kind of meetings would be confidence-building measures to enhance cooperation between various agencies of State government and Indian Army in working towards the common aim of implementing the government projects and making the State a better place to live in.
Dana Kishore, MD, HMWS&SB, in his speech highlighted the importance of “Jalam Jeevam” and requested Army and other stake holders in the society to take up this programme in a big way by supporting the cause.
During the course of the meeting, several inter-agency problem areas were discussed and solutions for a few were approved in principle by various HODs.
Issues of concern raised especially by Military authorities were discussed and resolved. Majority of the concerns of various stake holders were discussed and measures to mitigate the same were discussed. The meeting ended in a very positive and cordial environment.
