Hyderabad: 26th March, 2018: Novotel Hyderabad Airport celebrated Earth Hour on the 24th March 2018. This year the hotel did not limit its celebration to turning off non-essential lights for an hour, but also organized a Mobile torch run to spread the message of wellbeing and energy conservation.
All non-essential lights at the property were switched off and lobby at NHA were creatively lit up with candles. In a bid to bring awareness to the growing concerns of global climate change a Candle Lit Dinner was also organized at The Square & Haldi restaurants. Novotel Hyderabad Airport also organized “Mobile Torch Run” in their premises.
The hotel staff and the guests participated in the run. This unique run started at the sprawling 50,000sqft lawns ‘The Venue’ where trained professionals conducted a warm-up and stretching session and flagged off the run, the run then culminated at the hotels ‘Herb Garden’ where the participants were treated to homegrown fresh juices – such as sugarcane, cucumber and lemon, all the key ingredients of these juices grow in the ‘Herb Garden’.
Speaking on the occasion Ravi Khubchandani General Manager, Novotel Hyderabad Airport said, “We at Novotel Hyderabad Airport reinforced our commitment to the planet for sustainable and inclusive growth by celebrating Earth Hour at the property. Our team organised a mobile torch run and we switched off all non-essential lights and power consuming equipment’s during the Earth Hour. All these activities were carried out considering safety, security and comfort of our guests. We are excited to the world to reduce the carbon footprint.
Earth Hour is an outstanding occasion for us to reinforce this commitment and help raise awareness for the importance of environmental responsibility around the globe. Novotel Hyderabad Airport also created memorable experiences for their guests and members during Earth Hour, as they invited them to actively participate in this global conservation effort.
We are extremely delighted to contribute our bit back to the eco-system and help make the globe a better place to live.” Under the principles of Accor Hotels global sustainability initiative ‘Acting Here Planet 21’ the hotel has undertaken various initiatives that help the eco-system on the whole.
