Members of the Nair Service Society (NSS), Hyderabad, had a get-together and community dinner at Shubhasree Gardens, Lothkunta, to mark Malayalees’ new year Vishu here in Secunderabad. The family members of NSS staged a variety of cultural programmes on the occasion.

Hyderabad: Members of the Nair Service Society (NSS), Hyderabad, had a get-together and community dinner at Shubhasree Gardens, Lothkunta, to mark Malayalees’ new year Vishu here in Secunderabad. The family members of NSS staged a variety of cultural programmes on the occasion.

President of the NSS, Hyderabad, and senior journalist C G Chandra Mohan presided over the function. Ashokan Thathvamasi rendered the prayer. Treasurer Unnikrishnan Nair welcomed the gathering. General secretary V Appukuttan Nair spoke about the Vishu celebrations and thanked the members for making it a success. Vice president Ramesh Kumar, joint secretary Soman Nair and organising secretary Krishna Kumar also took part in the celebrations.

The cultural programme included the Nrutha Shilpam ‘Bhuthappattu’ by vice president Ramesh Kumar and team which was widely applauded. The programme also included classical dances, cinematic dances, skit, mimicry, film songs, rendering of poetry etc. Later the members joined for the family dinner. Krishna Kumar compered the programme. The president announced that the NSS’ Onam celebrations will be held on August 19 at MMR Gardens, Bowenpally.
