Malkajgiri: Pushcart vendors and petty traders on Sunday performed ‘palabhishekam’ to the BR Ambedkar statue near the Anandbagh Circle following the permission given by a court to continue the Sunday market. The weekly market is being conducted for the past 20 years. The colony residents had complained to the police against running of the weekly market following the recent road-widening.

The police had supported the residents. This led to the traders approaching the court, which ruled in their favour. They are happy with the order. They celebrated by performing ‘palabishekam’ to the statue. Among those present were Jambhav, Yadagiri, Jyothi, Tulasi, Upender.
