The much-awaited and prestigious ‘Rythu Bandhu’ scheme was launched on grand note on Thursday. Farmers were given cheques and now it’s time to encash them. As many as 2.24 lakh farmers are going to encash their cheques meant for crop investment. 

Tandur: The much-awaited and prestigious ‘Rythu Bandhu’ scheme was launched on grand note on Thursday. Farmers were given cheques and now it’s time to encash them. As many as 2.24 lakh farmers are going to encash their cheques meant for crop investment.

Rhythu Bandhu Scheme

Banks area also making arrangements for disbursing the amount without any trouble. The state government also appealed to the banks to be ready with cash. Special Rythu Bandhu counters have been set up.

Farmers of Basheerabad, Bomraspet, Tharur, Doma, Doultabad, Parigi, Pudur, Kotpalli, Kulkacherla have to visit State Bank of India. Farmers of Kodangal, Marpalli, Mominpet, Bantvaram, Tandur, Vikarabad, Yalal will encash in Andhra Bank. Farmers from Peddemul mandal will get their cash from Telangana Grameena Bank while farmers from Nawabpet mandal have to visit Canara Bank.

Tents and drinking water facility have been arranged at Bank premises. Bank officials advised the farmers to come up with original new passbooks, photocopy of Aadhar and voter ID card. They appealed farmers not to flood the branches which may cause inconvenience to them.

On the other hand, government officials are trying to create awareness among the farmers about how to go ahead with the received cheques. They supplied slips where the information about which bank to visit, what are the documents to be carried etc. Some of the farmers already encashed their cheques from Friday.
