Vikarabad: The department of tribal welfare is going to install CCTV cameras in four tribal residential schools, including two girls’ and six tribal welfare hostels to streamline administration and curb malpractices.

According to reports, there are over 3,147 students studying in residential schools and residing in hostels. There are complaints about students venturing out of the residential schools and hostels often, about quality of food being served, authorities showing inflated number of students than the actual enrollments and so on.

Therefore, it has been decided to fix six to eight cameras in each of these institutions to monitor their functioning from the office of the tribal welfare commissioner.

The officials are sounding confident that they will be able to know the actual strength of students of each of these institutions from the next academic year onwards. It would stop misuse of funds and pave the way for improving academic performance of students and so on.
