Hyderabad: Due to a projected shortfall of qualified workforce in the emerging technologies, NIT Warangal’s E&ICT Academy is announced a plan to upskill, re-skill and help over 2,000 working professionals re-orient with expertise in artificial intelligence & machine learning, IoT, Blockchain, Big Data by 2020.

This Academy has collaborated with the largest body of IT professionals– CSI to execute this program in Hyderabad. These two institutions are committed to community engagement and knowledge sharing through various meetups, hackathons, conferences and workshops.

In Hyderabad, CSI has already tied up with Hyderabad Data Science group to engage the community about the trends in AI. They have also identified a logistics and execution partner in ZettaMine Labs.

According to various Analysts such as IDC, Forrester, gartner, NASSCOM have projected the investments in AI in the range of 30-45 per cent YoY. The growth can be similar from Job opportunities making AI/ML a hyper growth sector. AI/ML technologies are disrupting the software industry which finds itself deeply deficit of expertise gap.

AI is still nascent in India, but the adoption is widespread across sectors, including e-commerce & retail, banking & financial services and manufacturing. “A survey of top skills in job requirements on LinkedIn is in the areas of AI, ML and DL (Deep Learning). This opens a great opportunity India’s expertise in AI is nascent, the country is not ready for the AI revolution that is upon us”, said Chandra Dasaka, Secretary SIG BDA.

He said the 22-weekend AI/ML practitioners program that cost Rs 1.5 lakh that will comprise over 350 hours of classroom and lab sessions, mentoring, workshops and hackathons. The session commences on June 9 in Hyderabad for an initial batch of 60. This initial program is for working professionals.
