East Anandbagh: The city witnessed heavy downpour on Wednesday which left most of the areas inundated. The nala at East Anandbagh broke out due to heavy water force and inundated colonies to a large extent. The drainage water that went on into the houses and roadside shops emanated foul smell.

After learning about the incident, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) zonal officer, Raghu Prasad, directed the Deputy Commissioner K Venu Gopal to take immediate steps to prevent the water flow into the colonies and ensure the public is safe.

"It is necessary to held discussions over this with Minister Harish Rao for a permanent solution and also ask for funds to restore nala," said Akula Narsing Rao, corporator. He further urged the public to be with patience as it is a time taking process.
