Hyderabad: The Ranga Reddy district Telangana Journalists’ Union leaders on Monday submitted representations to Collector Raghunandan Rao and DEO Satyanarayan Reddy to direct private schools in the district to provide fee exemption for the children of journalists working in newspapers and TV channels.

The DC and DEO responded positively. The two officials informed the union leaders that they would direct the schools to arrange fee exemption if the journalists approach the DC and DEO. The leaders thanked the DC and DEO for their prompt and favourable response. Among those who called on the two officials were president Uppari Sekhar Sagar, general secretary Asif Hussain, electronic media district convener G Ramesh.
