Hyderabad: Telangana Parents Association (TPA) and Child Rights Protection Forum (CRPF) demanded the district authorities to rein in the harassment of private school managements. In a representation submitted to the district Collector Yogitha Rana, the rights groups have alleged that private school managements have been forcing the parents to purchase stationery, uniform and other material from them.

TPA president R Mallesh said that schools were literally harassing the parents and pushing them to the wall in this matter. He said that there was no basis for school managements to force the parents to buy things from school.

CRPF president G Venu Gopal said that they have demanded the Collector to intervene and instruct the school managements to follow the norms. He said that private managements have been increasing the school fees by 10 to 20 per cent every year. He further said that fee for the Nursery and KG kids was about Rs 20,000 and it was more for the upper classes. He alleged that most of the private schools were not giving the facilities which were promised towards the fee they collect. Krishna Goud and other members of groups were also present during the meeting.
