Construction works were started after the formation of the Telangana State and authorities claimed to complete it within six months. Earlier, the area was full of activity following the makeshift markets and business was thriving and used to be more during festival seasons like Bonalu, Vinayaka Chavithi and others.

It is alleged that due to the laxity of the town planning officials, the process of acquisition of land for the RUB was not completed and compensation was not paid to some of the property owners. This led to delay of the works on the RUB.The construction works affected the business and festivals could not be celebrated in the area.
