Musheerabad: Rythu Sangham leader Sarampalli Malla Reddy on Sunday criticised Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for stating that the Rythu Bandhu Scheme would not be applicable to tenant farmers. Speaking to press persons at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram, he described KCR’s statement as ‘strange’, since the CM had total awareness on the problems faced by farmers.

Reddy asserted that tenancy farming existed from the days of the Nizam and there were more tanant farmers across the country. He pointed out that there were many flaws in the farm insurance scheme and that if tenant farmers were ignored there was a danger to agriculture sector getting severely affected.

The sangham leader announced that a ‘jail bharo’ programme would be held on August 9 to focus the attention on the problems of farmers. After collecting ten crore signatures a protest meeting would be conducted in New Delhi on September 5. He warned that the government would be taught a lesson in the 2019 elections if it fails to come to the rescue of tenant farmers.
